Determine the potential for power and chemical savings in your wastewater plant
Most wastewater treatment plants operate under sub-optimal conditions, making it more difficult for them to meet increasing purity standards from regulators in a cost effective manner.
However, there is often scope to make significant savings by reducing power consumption and further optimising plant design and operation without compromising water purity standards.
Our plant audit service is a low-cost initial scoping study. It is designed to quickly help you identify and evaluate what power savings and process optimisation options are available in your plant and scope how you can realise them in a time and cost efficient way.
How does it work?
To start the audit we spend one day with relevant staff at your plant to gather data and information on your process and specific challenges.
This information is then reviewed by our consulting team who will carry out the service by building a flowsheet for simulation and optimisation in our industry-leading software tool, gWATER.
If the data review should indicate that we require some additional measurements to improve the calibration of the models we will propose what these measurements should be and the where in the plant they should be measured. If you do not have this capability in-house we can provide a measurement service for NH3, COP and temperature if necessary.
Results and deliverables
The final deliverable of the audit is a presentation of the results from the simulation and benchmark optimisation. We also provide recommendations on how to further improve results and move forward.
The presentation will contain the following information:
- Advice on plant instrumentation including calibration
- Potential to improve nitrogen removal in the plant
- Preliminary optimisation (subject to data)
- Optimal operation set-points for your plant
- Estimation of potential savings to be made
There is an additional option to receive this information in an official report.
