The implementation of large-scale commercial CCS projects requires answers to many design and operating questions, particularly with regard to the interaction of various system components under different operating scenarios.
PSE’s gCCS® was the world’s first whole-chain system modelling environment, created with input from E.ON, EDF, Rolls-Royce and CO2Deepstore in a project funded by the Energy Technologies Institute (ETI).
Aimed specifically at CCS stakeholders who need to answer such questions, it was designed to cover all operations from power generation to injection, and includes novel physical properties implementations specifically formulated for CCS.
The relevant gCCS functionality has now been implemented within PSE’s gPROMS Process environment.
