We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events and Marketing Executive to join our Marketing team to organise a wide range of PSE organised and external events. PSE’s events include our flagship conference, the Advanced Process Modelling Forum in addition to many international exhibitions, conferences, workshops and seminars. In this role you will have the opportunity to become familiar with the many different aspects of event management and general marketing for a multinational organisation.

This is an ideal position for someone who wants to work in a fast-growing corporate environment with a young, dynamic marketing team. The position would suit a graduate with

prior event organisation experience or similar marketing role and a technical academic background in engineering, maths or science. The successful candidate will have the enthusiasm, creativity and determination to get involved with all aspects of event management, with the prospect of adding their own flair and expertise to our approach.

You will report to the Corporate Marketing Manager and work closely with the Product Marketing Managers, Production Manager and in-house Graphic Designer.

Your impact:

  • Strategic event planning: interacting with the heads of SPSE’s business units, sales teams, account managers and the Marketing Director to research, drive and plan out their forthcoming event schedules
  • Designing and Managing events: progressing an event concept through appropriate planning and delivery stages from start to finish; creating event briefs, negotiating contracts, budget approval, securing and overseeing contractors, accommodation sourcing, driving audience recruitment, controlling budgets, enforcing brand guidelines, overseeing delegate care, capturing event data, reporting & performance analysis
  • Event promotion: compiling e-marketing campaigns to promote SPSE organised events
  • and its presence at external events, including target list compilation using our CRM system and social media campaigns
  • Pre-event organisation: registration (coordinating details, registrations, data capture, replying to enquiries, collection of delegate fees), selecting and booking stands, ordering, and organising additional stand services, shell schemes, sponsorship, shipments of materials and general organisation including travel logistics
  • Marketing material production: working with all stakeholders to design and produce supporting materials needed for both SPSE organised and external events: stand decoration and production of printed and all supporting materials
  • Budgeting: negotiating and monitoring all costs, keeping budgets up to date, invoices, and purchase orders, liaising with Accounts to ensure payments are made on time
  • Operations: sales support through use of SalesForce to keep event campaigns up to date, assisting in maintaining and keeping SPSE’s marketing intranet site up to date
  • Internal social event planning - summer party organisation

Knowledge, skills, qualifications:

  • Degree educated, a scientific, engineering or mathematics background would be beneficial although not essential
  • First-rate organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience with event planning or similar marketing role
  • Fluent spoken and written English and an ability to proofread copy. Fluency with other European languages a benefit
  • Team player with the ability to form good working relationships with all levels of event stakeholders
  • Good time-management skills and an ability to work under pressure and juggle a varied and busy workload
  • Willingness to travel and to work flexibly when required
  • A good eye for detail and aesthetics
  • Good familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience using SalesForce or other CRM system
  • Confidence and enthusiasm to learn other marketing software and systems
