gPROMS Training Course - An Introduction to gPROMS®

gPROMS support

together with the following files, where applicable:

  • complete Case file (.gCS), as it includes the Execution Output showing the specific problem
  • Foreign Object code
  • physical properties used

Alternatively, you may Submit your support query online (PSE access password required) or phone or fax your closest office.

 

Audience

This is a three-day introductory training course, aimed at engineers who wish to start using gPROMS to solve design and operational problems of batch and continuous processes.

Content

Through a combination of small-group tutoring and hands-on problem solving sessions you will:

  • Learn of the capabilities and functionality of the gPROMS package
  • Learn how to use gPROMS effectively for constructing dynamic process models and using these for dynamic simulation
  • Acquire a basic understanding of the underlying solution methods to the extent that is necessary for making efficient use of the package
  • Learn how to troubleshoot and overcome more difficult problems

Topics covered include:

  • Modelling of lumped process systems
  • Modelling of distributed process systems
  • Modelling of process discontinuities
  • Modelling of plant operating procedures
  • Solving more difficult problems and obtaining help

The course assumes a basic understanding of mathematical modelling and simple computer skills.
