PSE Japan User Meeting 2005
Thursday 13 and Friday 14 October, British Embassy New Hall, Tokyo
Process Systems Enterprise is pleased to announce the first PSE Japan User Meeting, to be held at the British Embassy New Hall, Tokyo, on Friday 14 October 2005. The event is open to both existing and prospective users of PSE’s gPROMS software and ModelCare model-based innovation services, as well as to personnel and researchers from universities.
PSE is a leader in Advanced Process Modelling, a technology that uses high-accuracy process models to speed up innovation, improve designs of processes and products, enhance existing operations and improve the effectiveness of experimental programmes. PSE’s technology has brought significant advances in modelling in application areas such as reaction engineering, crystallisation, complex separation processes such as reactive distillation and absorption and fuel cell component and system design.
Japan is PSE’s largest market after the USA, and our customer base already includes major companies such as Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Taiyo Nippon Sanso, Maruzen Petrochemical, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Toshiba Fuel Cell Power Systems and research organisations such as AIST. The meeting is the first event organised in Japan since PSE opened the PSE Japan office in Yokohama earlier this year.
For those companies who have not yet adopted Advanced Process Modelling, the PSE Japan User Meeting provides a chance to find out more about the modeling technology of the future, and speak to people who are already benefiting from it.
The User Meeting will describe PSE’s vision for Advanced Process Modelling in the process and related industries, showcase PSE’s gPROMS software, and present experience from customers such as MCC, Maruzen Petrochemical, Taiyo Nippon and AIST describing how they are creating value in their organisations using PSE’s technology and services.

The embassy site, in front of the Imperial Palace at Ichiban-cho, has been in use since 1872. The land was provided as a mark of favour by the Meiji government and leased to the British Government in perpetuity. The main buildings, including the Ambassador's Residence, were completed in 1929 following the destruction of the original red brick buildings in the great Kanto earthquake of 1923.
The British Embassy is famous for its cherry trees, which are both inside and around the compound. The first cherry trees were planted in 1898 by the then Minister, Sir Ernest Satow, as a gift to the people of Tokyo and as a symbol of his love for Japan. They were replaced one hundred years later as part of Festival UK98, with the participation of Her Imperial Highness Princess Noriko. There are a number of other commemorative trees within the Embassy Compound, including an oak planted by Her Majesty The Queen in 1975, to mark the start of the Green Alliance campaign in 2002.
We look forward to meeting you there and please feel free to pass this invitation on to any of your colleagues who may wish to attend. In the meantime, if you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Shigeru Kashiwaya
