Process Systems Enterprise Limited is seeking two Consultants to support and further develop its rapidly growing Solids business. This business encompasses two products, gSOLIDS®and gCRYSTAL®, and associated engineering consulting services. Our solutions enable our customers to innovate and engineer products and processes more rapidly and with well understood levels of risk through the use of physics-based models.

Description of position

As a Consultant for product development in PSE's Solids Business, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintenance and further development of gSOLIDS and/or gCRYSTAL.
  • Proposing formulations for new models based on internal and customer requirements.
  • Implementation of new gSOLIDS and/or gCRYSTAL models using gPROMS®, PSE's modelling and solution platform.
  • Supporting gSOLIDS and/or gCRYSTAL evaluations by prospects.
  • Supporting existing customers in their application of gSOLIDS and/or gCRYSTAL.
  • Setting up and monitoring regression testing.
  • Gathering requirements, user feedback and enhancement requests.
  • Sales and Marketing support, including prospect visits as well as attendance at trade shows and conferences.

Required education and skills/experience

  • A PhD or a MSc degree in Chemical, Biochemical, Pharmaceutical or Mechanical Engineering.

  • For candidates with an MSc/MEng degree, at least 3 years' industrial experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical or biotech industry.
  • Flowsheet modelling experience is desirable.
  • A good working knowledge of experimental/plant equipment and analytical techniques in the particle technology field is highly desirable.
  • Experience with gPROMS, SPEEDUP®, ACM®, Dymola® or another equation-oriented modelling tool is an advantage.
  • Programming (FORTRAN, C, C++) and CFD/DEM experience is helpful, but not necessary.
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to prioritise scheduled tasks and react to unexpected problems.
  • Willing to within EMEA, the Americas and APAC for up to one week per quarter on average.
