PSE's Oil & Gas business is undergoing rapid growth because of the new technology and thinking we are bringing to Oil & Gas safety. We are looking for a number of people with Oil & Gas industry experience to fill Consulting positions at both Consultant and Senior Consultant levels.
Successful candidates will join a dynamic and rapidly-growing team of motivated engineers performing model-based safety analysis and delivering solutions to operating and engineering companies using PSE's industry-leading modelling technology. Positions and responsibilities
The available roles encompass a variety of duties and responsibilities, the exact balance of which will be determined by the applicant's experience. Activities include the following:
- Project execution and project management: ensure projects that are executed by you and/or Consultants under your supervision are delivered to the highest quality and within budgeted cost and time.
- Peer review and quality control of work performed by other Consultants
- Maintenance and development of PSE Oil & Gas's safety systems models and related IP
- Development of gPROMS models and application
- from scratch and/or using previous projects as a basis
- robust model libraries for internal and possibly external use
- examples / demos to demonstrate value of solution
- from scratch and/or using previous projects as a basis
- Configuring existing interfaces and/or identifying needs for enhancements or new interfaces with existing and new tools
- Proactively drive PSE's Safety Systems modelling business
- Make prospect visits to explain and position PSE's offerings in order develop new name business
- identify client requirements, scope projects and produce proposals
- Develop good working relationships with existing customersto secure continuous revenue streams, formulating proposals for follow-on work.

- Positioning of existing or prospective PSE offerings
Education requirements and experience
- A degree in Process Systems, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Senior Consultant: at least 6 years of relevant industrial experience and a MSc/MEng or a minimum of 3 years relevant industrial experience and a PhD
- Consultant: 3 years of relevant industrial experience and a MSc/MEng or a PhD
Required skills/experience
- Relevant industrial experience
- the application of custom modelling (gPROMS®, SPEEDUP®, Aspen Custom Modeller®, Dymola® or another equation-oriented modelling tool) to solving process systems problems
- the application of modelling tools to oil and gas related applications (using for example gPROMS, OLGA or HYSYS Dynamics).
- experience in managing complex model based projects
- the application of custom modelling (gPROMS®, SPEEDUP®, Aspen Custom Modeller®, Dymola® or another equation-oriented modelling tool) to solving process systems problems
- Programming (FORTRAN, C, C++) and CFD experience is helpful, but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to prioritise scheduled tasks and react to unexpected problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Travel
- Up to 30% (within the UK and abroad).
