Panel of judges
Submissions will be judged by the panel of three leading academics in the field of Process Systems Engineering:
Prof. Stratos Pistikopoulos (Chair)

Prof. Rafiqul Gani
Rafiqul Gani is Professor in Systems Design at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Technical University of Denmark, co-editor of Computers and Chemical Engineering and Member of the Executive Board of the European Federation of Chemical Engineers.
Asst. Prof. Michael Georgiadis
Michael Georgiadis is Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Informatics at University of Western Macedonia, Greece and Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London.
Process Systems Enterprise (PSE) is the provider of the gPROMS Advanced Process Modelling environment and is a pioneer in the emerging technology of Model-Based Innovation.
gPROMS is widely used in academic research, particularly in areas of novel technology, to provide quantification to support research results through the application of modelling.
In acknowledgement of increasing role in academic research, PSE is offering an annual €5000 prize for the best paper describing the use of gPROMS in an innovative way or in a novel area of application or technology.
The research presented in the paper should make substantial use of gPROMS modelling in order to achieve the results described.
The judges will favour novel applications or application in novel technology areas. The criteria are described further in the guidelines.
Each year the prize will be announced at a key academic or industrial conference. This year, it will be announced at the 2008 AIChE Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
In addition to awarding the prize, PSE may invite the corresponding author to present the paper at the PSE Annual Meeting and to publish a summary page on the PSE website, depending on copyright and other considerations.
If you feel that you have a paper that will qualify for the prize, you are encouraged to submit an abstract using the entry form. You do not need to provide the full paper and publication details until the deadline.
If you have any questions, please feel to ask the organising committee by emailing PSE Model-Based Innovation Prize organisers.
