PSE Model-Based Innovation Prize
Guidelines
The judges will favour entries that achieve one or more of the following:
- focus on novel areas of process and related technology – for example, hydrogen storage, solar panel manufacture, etc.
- focus on novel approaches to traditional process areas – for example, heat-integrated distillation columns.
- bring simulation and modelling to process areas where they are not currently applied systematically – for example, fermentation and other biotechnology processes, solids handling, etc.
- represent a step-change in approach to existing applications – for example, design of reactors, crystallisers or other complex equipment.
- take first-principles models into new areas of application – for example, online real-time optimisation (RTO), non-linear model-based predictive control, etc.
- focus on novel areas of modelling and optimisation technology – for example, the implementation of new global optimisation methods.
- focus on novel areas of application for process modelling tools – for example, cell metabolism modelling.
- focus applications that have a positive impact on society and the environment.
- make substantial use of gPROMS in achieving the results.
The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
