gPROMS academic licensing - terms, conditions and prices

Process Systems Enterprise (PSE) offers 3-year licences for most products in the gPROMS family at discounts of more than 95% to universities and other academic institutions. Additional discounts are available for ordering multiple licences of the same product.

1. What can an academic licence be used for ?

The software packages obtained under these licences are the full versions. However, their usage is restricted to teaching and research purposes only. In particular the software should only be used when the full data and results are to be placed in the public domain.

PSE Academic will be happy to advise you on the most appropriate course of action if your intended usage of gPROMS does not fulfil all of the above criteria (e.g. if some of your work is funded by an industrial sponsor, with some of the results being confidential).

2. Who can apply for an academic licence ?

Academic licence agreements have to be signed by a permanent member of the academic staff of the university department to which the licence is granted. This person is known as the academic contact.

3. How many licences do I need ?

Within TCP/IP network environments, gPROMS is licensed using a floating licence model. This allows you a number of simultaneous runs/users of gPROMS on workstations within your local network, up to the maximum number of users stated in the licence.

You may use your licences in mixed-platform network environments, including both Microsoft Windows and LINUX-based machines.

It is also possible to run gPROMS on workstations that are not attached to a TCP/IP network. See "Licence configurations" for technical details of PSE's licence management system.

4. How much does it cost ?

All gPROMS family products are licensed for three-year periods.
